Welney Beginner Photography Workshop 18th November 2017 - Ben Cherry

Welney Beginner Photography Workshop 18th November 2017

Are you interested in photography and want to learn how to go from auto modes to crafting images with the settings on your camera? This intimate full day workshop aims to enlighten, inspire and engage you in the exciting world of photography.

Booking - £85 only 15 places available.

Please email info.welney@wwt.org.uk or call 01353 860711 to book.

Who is this for?

It is aimed at anyone who has a growing interest in photography. WWT Welney will be our inspiring location for this workshop where Ben will demonstrate what can be done with even the most basic of cameras. You don’t need to have any knowledge of photography, you just need enthusiasm. Alternatively, you might be looking to brush up on some of the fundamentals, this course will establish a solid foundation for you to build on.

Learn how to capture those magical scenes

What you can expect?

The morning will focus on explaining the fundamentals of photography, using case studies from a range of Ben’s projects, including the award winning WWT Flight of The Swans project which made international headlines last year. You will be set fun group exercises to reinforce ideas ranging from the exposure triangle - Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO - to composition and perspective.

A buffet lunch is provided. In the afternoon the group will take its recently learnt theory outside to test on the captive collection birds of Arundel’s reserve and on the amazing wildlife which calls this site home.

Use of slow shutter speed, among other techniques

What do you need to bring?

Ideally a camera with manual controls - aperture, shutter speed - but if not this isn’t a problem, please do get in touch with Ben ahead of the workshop and he will try and source you a camera for the day. Other than that, please bring a notepad and pen, some suitable outdoor clothes and a waterproof, just in case!

Bad weather can make great photos
