Are you passionate about the natural world and already have an active interest in photography, but want to develop your wildlife imagery? During this full day workshop Ben Cherry, an award winning environmental photojournalist, will walk you through ways to take your wildlife images to the next level. Many of his examples will be from the news headline grabbing WWT Flight of The Swans expedition.

Limited to 10 spaces. Costs £120 including a buffet lunch.

Who is this for?

Do you have a good grasp of the fundamentals of photography and know how to use your camera in manual mode (if not, see our beginner course here)? Some of the features participants on this course will be looking at include: composition, perspective and a sense of place in your pictures.

What you can expect?

The morning will consist of theory, using Ben’s previous projects as case studies. It will also involve interactive exercises ranging from building multi-image narratives, to looking at techniques like panning, flash imagery and camera traps.

After a buffet lunch, the course will move outside to explore the stunning Welney WWT reserve, Ben will set a series of constructive challenges before the group moves to the specially designed photography hide which is exclusively reserved for the workshop. Participants will then photograph migratory swans (Whoopers and Bewick’s), coming in for the evening feed. The workshop will conclude at 4.30pm with participants free to stay for the evening for the floodlit swan feeds.
